Robert Eugene Schultz was born the son of Otto and Malinda (Horstman) Schultz Sr. on November 30, 1925, in Elkport. He passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Robert received his education from the local country school and later served his country during WWII in the United States Army. After he was discharged from the Army he married Ivanelle Carrier on January 25, 1947 in Guttenberg. To this union they were blessed with two children. For nearly 20 years Robert worked for Crubaughs Feed Mill and then worked for the City of Guttenberg for over 20 years. He spent some time in the water treatment department where he worked with his son Robyn. Later he kept the city looking spectacular by taking pride in mowing and trimming the parks. In his free time Robert enjoyed woodworking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, building model airplanes and ships, watching his Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He also spent much of his time hand picking the weeds out of his garden so it not only looked top shelf but also produced the best quality vegetables. Robert will be sadly missed by his two sons, son Robyn (Sue) Schultz of Guttenberg, and Randy (Alice) Schultz of Blue Grass, IA; three grandchildren, Eric, Brett and Drew; one sister, Laureen (Art) Handke of Elkader; two brothers, Otto Schultz Jr. of Waukon, and Earl (Rosie) Schultz of Guttenberg. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son, Ricky in infancy; three sisters, Pearl Hanenburger, Louise Niehaus and Henrietta Koehn; one brother, Harold Schultz.Visitation: Saturday 10:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M.
