Pallbearers were John Jesenovec, Jim Jesenovec, Mike Jesenovec, Dan Althoff, Bob Althoff, Don Althoff, Tom Althoff and Ron Althoff. Bob was born June 21, 1948, in Dyersville, Iowa the son of Edmund and Magdalen (Bonert) Jesenovec. He graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School with the Class of 1966 and began helping his parents on the family farm near Worthington, eventually taking over the farm where he lived his entire life. He loved working the land on his John Deere tractors, working with his livestock, and grabbing the mail with a herd of cats chasing him down the lane. But the work stopped when someone pulled down the lane to visit. He loved spending time with people, whether it be friends or family that stopped by the farm, people he went to see at the nursing home, times he set out to find a relative not truly knowing where they lived (not afraid to knock on a stranger's door to ask for directions), or a simple trip across the road to the "Westside." In addition to his love for his farm and a good visit, he loved his Harley - traveling to eleven different states and Canada. He loved Blue Bunny Ice Cream. He loved babies. He did not love getting his picture taken but once in a while you'd surprise him and catch a photo of his friendly smile...usually while holding a baby. He loved family. While he wasn't a man to come right out and say it, you knew by the nicknames, the jokes, the snakebites, and the whisker rubs that he cared deeply about his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include 2 brothers: Gerald (Jane) Jesenovec of Farley and David (Jane) Jesenovec of Hopkinton, a brother-in-law, Edwin Althoff of Anamosa, a sister-in-law, Wilma Jesenovec of Hopkinton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Ann Althoff and a brother, Ernest Jesenovec. Information available and condolences accepted at www.kramerfuneral.com
