Robert Leroy Tyler

Obituary Robert LeRoy Tyler, age 84, of Guttenberg, IA, died Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. He was born on February 10, 1935 in Prairie du Chien Wis, the son of Arthur and Goldie Tyler Robert received his education locally and served his county in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 where he received an honorable discharge. On May 7, 1955, Robert was united in marriage with Bonnie Topel. Robert and Bonnie lived and worked in the Quad City area where Robert worked for Oscar Mayer for 32 years. He and Bonnie moved to Guttenberg where they resided on Able Island. Robert loved living on the water and spent a great deal of time fishing as well as ice fishing. Robert and Bonnie had 5 sons, Daniel, twins, Ronnie & Donnie, Jamie and Robert Jr.; 8 grandchildren, Holly, Kelly, Dave, Keith, Curtis, Hunter, Megan & Melisa; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters; 5 siblings, Pearl, Arthur Jr "Bud"; Beverly, Shirley & Jerry. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Donnie & Ronnie; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
