Robert M. Schissel

Robert Martin Schissel, age 71, of Farmersburg, formerly of Ossian IA, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born the son of Raymond and Hildegard (Meyer) Schissel, on February 18, 1939 at Ossian. Robert received his education locally drove truck for many years and also worked for Livingston Logging and Pattison Mine in Clayton. Bob enjoyed driving, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. On February 28, 1976, he was united in marriage with Connie Sonsteby at Zwingle United Church in Mt. Vernon, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Cameron (fianc Heather Bissell) Schissel of Farmersburg, Justin Schissel of Yuma, Arizona; children from a previous marriage son, Callistus,"Kelly" (Stacie) Schissel of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; five daughters, Bobbi (Larry) Johanningmeier of Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Michele (Kevin) Fritz of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Rebecca (Peter) Noblet of Gladstone, Michigan, Jacqueline (Kevin) Hertrampf of Fennimore, Wisconsin, and Constance M. Schissel of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; his mother, Hildegard , and one brother, Thomas (Linda) Schissel of Ossian; one sister, Dorothy Krusemark of Evansdale; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
