Roland L Handke

Roland Louis Handke was born the son of Edgar and Augusta (Block) Handke March 6, 1917, in Guttenberg. He died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Guttenberg Care Center. Roland received his education at Minors Creek Country School, served his country in the United States Army during World War II, and farmed with his family for many years. He enjoyed raccoon and squirrel hunting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his granddaughter, Alicia Miller from Boaz, Alabama; son-in-law, Owen Miller from Arab Alabama; step-daughter Elizabeth (Paul) Schwendinger; step-son Larry (Kathryn) Borcherding three sisters, Arlene Thein of Guttenberg, Augusta (Marvin) Gloeckner of Epworth, and Mary Ann (Artie) Hoeger of Guttenberg; two brothers, Raymond (Josephine) Handke and Eugene Handke of Guttenberg; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
