Roma S. Lahrs

Roma Sylvia (Heins) "Dottie" Lahrs, age 88, daughter of Louis and Roma (Bittner) Heins was born on September 20, 1920, on the home farm near Luana, Iowa. She went to her heavenly home on February 25, 2009, from the Guttenberg Care Center after a long battle with cancer. Roma received her education in the rural school at Luana. She was united in marriage to Freddie Lahrs on February 12, 1941 at Guttenberg. Roma enjoyed her family of sisters, gardening, fishing, refinishing furniture, going to auctions, keeping her yard in tip top shape and traveling. Roma will be missed by her sisters, Hazel Anderegg of Garnavillo, LaVonne (Glen) Mueller of Elkader, Betty (Henry) Geick of Guttenberg, Shirley Sutton and Rose Marie (Richard) Duwe of Garnavillo, and Gerene (William) Morarend of Newark, Delaware, she will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
