Rosalyn Schultz

Rosalyn (Spielbauer) Schultz, age 83, of Guttenberg, IA, died Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. She was born on March 15, 1928, in North Buena Vista to George and Francis (Rohner) Spielbauer. Rosalyn received her education from the St. Marys Catholic School System. In 1947, she was united in marriage with Earl Schultz and together they were blessed with 5 children. Over the years, Rosalyn worked at the library, she also provided child care services but most of all she devoted herself to taking care of her family. It was that dedication which brought her so much joy caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Throughout her life she sewed clothing for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was in the process of making flannel Elmo shirts for her first great granddaughter and great grandson. These will be completed in her memory by one of her many friends. She was also a talented quilt maker, spending decades of her life quilting for others. Late in life she began making rosaries for the church and her many relatives and friends and even teaching this rosary-making skill to others. But most of all Rosalyn hobby was loving and caring for others, a trait she also taught to many. She was a loving, caring teacher. Those left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Dean Schultz, David Schultz, Debbie (Dan) Wyjack, Jim Schultz and Mark Schultz; 4 grandchildren, Sarah and Tom Wyjack, James Schultz Jr. and Ellie Schultz; 3 great grandchildren, Tate Armstrong, Mirin Rose Oxley and Adia Wyjack; 12 siblings; Joe and Arnold Spielbauer, Helen Bolsinger, Frank Spielbauer, Hildegard Brooks, Larry Spielbauer, Cecilia Steger, John, Danny, Jim, Tom and Dave Spielbauer and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 2 sisters, Mary in infancy and Kathleen Eilers.In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Rosalyn and they may be sent to 403 Main St. Clayton IA, 52049.Visitation: Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 P.M.
