Rosemary Tuecke

Rosemary L (Gibson) Tuecke, age 96, of Guttenberg, IA, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Guttenberg Care Center . She was born the daughter of William and Mamie (Sandt) Gibson on December 19, 1913 in Dubuque Iowa. Rosemary graduated from Senior High School in Dubuque and received further education to become the Clayton County Magistrate for many years. Rosemary married Willard Tuecke and made a home in the Guttenberg area. Rosemary taught flight during WWII in Dubuque and was the 1st woman school bus driver in Guttenberg. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Friendship Force where she would take in a person from a foreign country for a period of time. She would then travel overseas and live with a family as well. These expeditions would take Rosemary all over the world. She was a terrific athlete competing in basketball and being a member of the womens baseball league in Dubuque. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, skeet shooting and hunting, where she harvested a moose in Canada. Rosemary is survived by one son, Lyle Tuecke; sister in law Betty Gibson of Dubuque and many nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephew and friends.In Lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to 411 N 2nd St Guttenberg, IA 52052Visitation: Saturday 2:00 - 5:00 P.M.
