Ruby Whalen

Ruby M. Whalen was born the daughter of Arthur and Maggie (Hayward) Bulstrode on November 3, 1916 in Portsmouth England. She passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Ruby received graduated from high school and took on various jobs included manufacturing bombs for WWII. On April 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to James Martin Whalen in New York City. To this union they were blessed with three children. In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed crocheting, reading. She also spent an abundant amount of time volunteering at hospitals back out east in her earlier years. Ruby will be forever cherished by her daughter, Diane Whalen of Bettendorf, IA; two sons, James (Cheryl) Whalen of Guttenberg and Larry Whalen of Lewis, Del.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Pringle and Joyce Bryers; one brother, Edward Bulstrode. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one sister Evie Adler; two brothers, Stanley and Ronald Bulstrode.Visitation: Wednesday 4:00 - 6:00 P.M.
