Ruth Bildstein

Ruth Bildstein, 52, of Petersburg, Iowa died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at her home after a battle with cancer. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2004, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Iowa, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. John O'Connor. Ruth was born on April 25, 1951, in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Karl and Florence (Kremer) Spoden. She graduated with the Western Dubuque High School Class of 1969. She married Ed Bildstein on June 9, 1971, in Worthington, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Petersburg area. She dedicated her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Ed, of Petersburg, 4 daughters: Crissy (Tom) Arens, Tammy (Dan) LeGrand, Lori Bildstein (fiancé Matt Digmann), all of Dyersville, Iowa and Jill Bildstein of Petersburg, Iowa; 2 sons: Chad and Todd, both of Petersburg, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Jordan Bildstein, Brady, McKenzie, Sydney and Kennedy Arens, Justice Bildstein, Riley and Haley LeGrand; her parents: Karl and Florence Spoden of Dyersville, Iowa; 2 brothers: Neil (Sue) Spoden of Dyersville, Iowa, Bill (Mary Ellen) Spoden of Worthington, Iowa.
