Ruth Tuecke

Ruth Corson Tuecke, age 97, of Guttenberg, IA, died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Guttenberg Care Center. Ruth was born in Littleport, Iowa on January 23, 1918, to T. Franklin and Laura (Jennings) Corson, the first daughter and the third of eight children. Ruth graduated from Littleport High School and attended Elkader Junior College after which she taught country school. On April 9, 1938, she married Carl Tuecke of Guttenberg, Iowa. She was employed for almost twenty years as a secretary at Farmers Mutual Insurance in Garnavillo and later she was the drive-up teller at First National Bank in Waverly, Iowa for over twenty years. In 1993, ten years after Carl retired as the campus electrician for Wartburg College, they returned to Guttenberg, Carls hometown. Ruth is survived by her three sons, John (Patricia) Tuecke of DeKalb, Illinois, William (Mary) Tuecke of Marion, Iowa, and Daniel (Patricia) Tuecke of Beaverton, Oregon; six grandson, one granddaughter; twenty seven great grandchildren and six great-great- grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae (Tuecke) Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
