Sandra Walters Gebhardt

Sandra Walters- Gebhardt, age 73, of Guttenberg, IA, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at her home with family beside her. She was born on November 1, 1939 to Kenneth and Leona (Adams) Walters. Sandra attended the country school at the bottom of Orange Ave through the 8th grade. She then attended the Guttenberg High School where she graduated with the class of 1957. After high school, Sandra received her two year teaching certificate from Clarke College. Shorty after that a four year bachelors degree was required so Sandra attended Clarke College again and achieved her bachelors degree. Sandra taught 1st grade at Colesburg for a few years before she gave that up to stay home and care for her children while running the dairy farm. For many years, Sandra had a very successful farming career all the while raising five children. Sandra really loved being on the farm and being outdoors. She loved her children and grandchildren first and foremost and she enjoyed working with the dairy herd and spending time caring for her dogs and cats on the Blue Belt Farm. Sandra will be forever loved and cherished by her five children, Rhonda Gebhardt, Jackie (Kirk) Kwiatkowski, Kenneth (Sharmyn) Gebhardt, Clyde (Donna) Gebhardt and Randy Gebhardt; six grandchildren, Bobby, William, Karston, Garrett, Christopher and Kyle; three siblings, Carol Smith, Steve Walters and Sharon Troester and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sisters and one brother Ronnie Walters.Visitation: Thursday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
