Sharon Keehner

Sharon (Siebrecht) Keehner, age 76, of Garnavillo, IA, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA . She was born on June 27, 1936, in Guttenberg to Valmah and Lenchen (Thiese) Siebrecht. Sharon grew up living in Clayton Center and attended the Garnavillo Community School where she graduated from. On her 19th birthday, Sharon was united in marriage with Howard Keehner at St. Paul Church in Garnavillo. This union blessed them with four children; Vicky, Randy, Darryl and Darcy. For many years, Sharon helped Howard around the farm all the while making a home for her family. Over the last several years, Sharon has been a part of various committees with St. Paul Church including, financial secretary and WELCA, Garnavillo Boosters, writer for the Guttenberg Press Garnavillo Section, Garnavillo Historical Society, Sherman Swift Tower Preservation Society, Hospital and Legion Auxiliary and she also volunteered at the Shepard of the Hills but most of all she cherished all the times and activities she spent with her family. Sharon is survived by her four children, Vicky (Wayne) Hess of Sherrill IA, Randy (Sharon) Keehner and Darryl (Teresa) Keehner both of Guttenberg and Darcy (Don) Winston of Highland, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Kristine (Dan) Andersen, Kayleen, Kyle and Logan Keehner, Ryan (Sarah), Derrick (Lindsay), Laura Hess and Dylan Winston; three great grandsons, Tyler, Cooper Hess and Hunter Hess; three siblings, Chuck (Jane) Siebrecht, Jerome "Bud" Siebrecht and Valene Lau and many other relatives and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and Husband Howard on December 1, 2001Visitation: Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
