Shirley Diane Davis

Obituary Shirley passed away peacefully on Monday June 11, 2018 at The University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was 82. Born in Brooklyn New York to Joseph and Margaret (Blauvelt) Hanlon on September 5, 1935 and was raised in Sommerville, Massachusetts where she also met her husband Sidney. She later relocated to Garnavillo where she devoted her life to raising her children. Shirley had a very elegant poise and sense of style. She loved wearing hats, which I'm sure everyone in the Garnavillo community will remember about her. She was a very intelligent women and an avid reader . Ask her a question, she knew the answer. She loved watching the History Channel and Jeopardy. Shirley had 4 children. Neal (Carol) of Harpers Ferry; their children Ryan and Lindsey. Diana of Old Hickory TN and her children Craig and Brian. Kathleen (Shane) of Kountze, Tx. Their children Amanda and Maddison. Lori of Old Hickory TN, and her children Erin and Hannah. She left behind 8 grand children and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Joseph Hanlon and grandson Brian Barnhart. Services Services will be at a later date.
