Shirley Finnell

Shirley A. Finnell, 82, of Dyersville, Iowa died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 3 p.m. and St. Ann's Mother Club will conduct a rosary at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Shirley was born September 13, 1931 in Alexander, Iowa, the daughter of Casper and Agnes (Haverly) Kuper. She married Larry L. Finnell on July 13, 1952 in Hampton, Iowa. Shirley was active in Girl Scouts and operated Harrison's Dime Store with her husband Larry for many years. She then began working for the Dyersville Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed camping, gardening and loved chocolate and the color blue. Shirley was a member of St. Ann's Mother Club and St. Francis Xavier Parish. Survivors include her son, Mike (Ruth Ann) Finnell of Earlville, and their children: Chad (Jessica) Finnell, Crystal (Bill Kluesner) Finnell and Jeff Finnell, a daughter, Pam (Chris) Kruse of Earlville, and their children: Carissa (Tony Kulper) Kruse, Kylie (Travis Kelchen) Kruse and Kolyer Kruse, 4 great grandchildren: Brinlei, Carson, Rory and Lyle, and a sister-in-law, Lila Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry in 2006, sister, Lois (Marvin) Meints, her brothers: Morris (Kathleen) Kuper, Harold (Marian) Kuper and brother-in-law, Russell Harrison.
