Suzanne Stoeffler, age 66, of Cedar Rapids, IA, died Friday, January 9, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. She was born on April 1, 1948 in Dyersville, Iowa, to Victor and Josephine Goedken. Suzanne was a Registered Nurse for 44 years, and was a natural caregiver to not only her patients, but also family and friends. Her faith, family, and friends were the center of her life. She honored and celebrated her family and friends in many ways, most notably by giving thoughtful and personal gifts that she hand crafted with her talent for arts and crafts. These gifts always carried a sentimental meaning that came from her heart. Suzanne was also a talented writer, and wrote many clever, rhyming, poems for her family, friends and coworkers to celebrate milestones and holidays, but especially Christmas and Halloween, which she loved to celebrate the most. She loved celebrating many days, such as May Day and April Fools day. She decorated her home and the department floor at Mercy Hospital where she worked, for many holidays. Suzanne shared joy with others in these ways, and with the bright smile and beautiful spirit that she carried with her every day. In addition to arts and crafts, Suzannes other interests included antiques, family keepsakes, history and researching family history. Above all else playing games and spending time with her grandchildren. Suzanne volunteered for many years at All Saints School. She had a very close and special bond with her four sisters. Suzanne was a loving, thoughtful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister, and friend. Suzannes hugs and warm personality will be missed by many, but endure in our memories. She is survived by her husband of 43 years; Michael Stoeffler; sons, Joseph Stoeffler and Thomas (Kristin) Stoeffler; grandchildren, Sullivan, Poseybelle and Fritz Stoeffler; siblings, Carol DeSotel, Mary (James) Eilers, Kaye (Myrle) Dietzenbach, Faye (William) Stambaugh and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
