Terry D. Kelly

Terry D. Kelly 60, of Marion, formerly of West Union, died Thursday October 30, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. Terry was born the son of Dale and Lois (Miller) Kelly on April 18, 1948 in Regina Canada. Terry grew up in West Union where he graduated from high school in 1966. Terry went on to Masonry School in Des Moines following his graduation and then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 until 1970 during which time he fought for his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the Third Battalion, Twenty-Sixth Marines, First Marine Division. Terry worked as a bricklayer and car dealer for a number of years before retiring in 2004. He had a strong love for his country, his family and friends and will be missed greatly. Survivors include his sons, Dustin Kelly of Alameda California, Cavin Kelly of Cedar Rapids and Torry Kelly at home; two sisters, Nancy (John) Hill of Toddville and Rhonda (Randy) Schmelzer of Garnavillo; two brothers, Ted (Debbie) Kelly of Lutz, Florida and Scott (Holly) Kelly of Anamosa and several nieces, nephews and friends.
