Verdes Winch

Verdes "Bumpy" Winch was born the son of Edward and Elsie (Dryer) Winch on July 8, 1934 in Guttenberg Iowa. He died Friday, November 18, 2005, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Bumpy grew up around Guttenberg until he entered the Military where he served our great country for over 30 years. During his military career he received several medals including the Purple Heart. Those left to cherish his memory are; one brother Edward Winch of Guttenberg; one sister Donna Thein of Guttenberg and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, one brother Roy Winch; three sister, Betty Marovets, Evelyn Farrist and Alvera Winch. Bumpy served his country for over 30 years in several branches of the armed forces. During that time he earned the purple heart.Visitation: 2:00-6:00 P.M.
