Vernon Bockenstedt

Obituary Vernon G Bockenstedt, age 75, of Colesburg, IA, died Monday, October 22, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville, IA. He was born on November 18, 1942 near Petersburg, Iowa, the son of John and Hilda Bockenstedt. Vern received his education locally and farmed pretty much his entire life. On January 30, 1971, Vern was united in marriage with Sharon Rose Funk. They were married for 41 years until she passed in 2012. Vern is survived by his siblings; Arlene Langel, John (Dorothy) Bockenstedt, Walter (Mary) Bockenstedt, Virgil (Sue) Bockenstedt and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Ruth Ann in infancy, Pearl Meier, Jeanne Oberbroeckling and one brother Irvin Bockenstedt.
