Virginia Schmitt

Virginia Ann Schmitt, age 74, of Guttenberg, IA, died Monday, September 13, 2010, at the Guttenberg Care Center after her courageous battle with Alzheimers. She was born the daughter of Charles and Hilda (Althaus) Patzner on July 20, 1936, in Guttenberg. Virginia attended St. Marys Catholic School graduating in 1954. She was united in marriage with Donald Schmitt on May 4, 1957 at St. Marys. For over 40 years, Virginia worked in sales in the floor covering industry alongside her husband Donald. Surviving is her husband Donald; three children, Tim Schmitt of Guttenberg, Joe (Laurie) Schmitt of Folsom CA and Maria George of Granite Falls NC; nine grandchildren; brothers, Duane (Grace) Patzner, Bob (Rosemarie) Patzner and Delos Patzner. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Lavern Patzner.In Lieu of flowers and all types of gifts the family would appreciate memorials to be given to a charity or organization of your choice.Funeral Service: Saturday 10:00 A.M.
