Walter Eglseder

Walter F. "Shorty" Eglseder was born the son of John and Elizabeth (Buechel) Eglseder, August 30, 1914, on the family farm near Guttenberg. He died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Shorty received his education from St. Marys Catholic School in Guttenberg; farmed and worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and was an avid Cubs Fan. On June 14, 1941, he was united in marriage with Mayme Schrunk at St Marys Church in Guttenberg. He is survived by his wife Mayme; one daughter, Lu Ann (Joe) Hesler of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; four sons, Jim (Kathy) Eglseder of Guttenberg, Terry Eglseder of Balltown, Steve (Barbara) Eglseder of Wood Center, and John (Jane) Eglseder of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren, Cory & Natalie Eglseder, Lisa & Chris Wolter, Michelle & Steven Santoro, Stephanie & Todd Strader, Brooks & friend, Sarah Timmons, Justin Eglseder, Jacob Eglseder, Jessica Eglseder, and Jeremy Eglseder, Morgan Hesler, Meredith Hesler, Michael Hesler, Matt Hesler, and Meghan & Jamie Enright; six great-grandchildren, James Santoro, Haeley Wolter, Conor Strader, Caden Strader, Olivia Enright, and Madeline Enright.
