Walter Miller

Walter W. Miller was born the son of Wylie and Alta (Barnhart) Miller on May 21, 1926 in Guttenberg. He passed away Monday January 15, 2007, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Walter received his education from the local country school and worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for 36 years. On June 30, 1945 he was united in marriage with Edith Ferguson in Elkader. To this union they were blessed with 13 children. Over the years Walter enjoyed working on cars with his kids, going out on the river, spending time with his family and making trips to the casino. He also was a member of the eagles club and enjoyed helping out at their functions. Walter is survived by his children; Donna (Jerry) Balk, Dayton (Sue) Miller both of Guttenberg, Marion (Charlotte) Miller of Durand, Ill., Daniel (Jean) Miller of Guttenberg, Owen (Carol) Miller of Arab, Ala, Dianne Knockel of Guntersville, Ala., Denise Boardman of Guttenberg, Walter Miller Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Betty (Tom) Thompson of Guttenberg, Davey Miller of Phoenix, Ariz, Susanne (Jay) Westemeier of Walford, IA; one brother, Francis Moreland of McGregor IA; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith, parents, two sons Merlin and Jerry Lee, one brother Marion Miller, one daughter in law, Janice and two sons in law, Ed Knockel and Joe Boardman.Visitation: Wednesday 5:00-8:00 P.M.
