William Beckett

William "Bill" Beckett, age 76, of Prairie du Chien Wis, died Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born on December 7, 1936, in rural Garnavillo IA, to George and Georgianna (Brown) Beckett. Bill grew up in the Garnavillo area where he attended the Garnavillo School through the 8th grade. After school, Bill worked on various farms between Garnavillo and Monona Iowa. He later worked at the Beloit Corp in Wisconsin for 10 years. After that period, Bill worked for different saw mills in both Iowa and Wisconsin until his retirement where he moved to Prairie du Chien Wis with his wife Nancy. Survivors include Bills wife Nancy; five children, JoAnn (Charlie) Nagel of Wauzeka Wis, Randy (Anna) Beckett of Owatonna MN, Sharon Larsen of Steuben Wis, Donna Beckett of Prairie du Chien Wis and Lori Beckett of Texas; three step children, Timothy (Chris) May of Blue River Wis, Tammy (Scott) Bomkamp of Waterford Wis and Troy May of Prairie du Chien Wis; 23 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Anna Mae Meyer of Garnavillo, Lou Ann (Reynold) Schmerbach of North Buena Vista, Carson Beckett of Garber, Marlin Beckett of Dubuque and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Emma Jean Eglseder.Visitation: Monday 9:00 - 10:00 A.M.
