Wilma Mueller

Wilma Louise (Schroeder) Mueller, age 92, of Iowa City, formerly of Garnavillo, IA, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born the daughter of Henry and Edith (Tuecke) Schroeder, April 30, 1916, on the family farm near Osterdock. Wilma graduated from the Guttenberg High School in 1935; taught rural school, Bible School and Sunday School at St. Peters Church for many years. She was a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, WELCA, and enjoyed quilting, bird watching, making pictures for nieces and nephews, and loved to travel, spending the winter months in Mesa, Arizona with her husband, Louis. On December 27, 1941, she was united in marriage with Louis Mueller in Dubuque. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Saeugling of Iowa City and Esther McFarland of Reno, Nevada; her brother, Don (Kay) Becker of Guttenberg; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Louie.
