Zella Ruth Kuenzel

Zella Ruth (Eckart) Kuenzel was born the daughter of Oscar and Irene (Bunke) Eckart on December 21, 1918 in Guttenberg. She passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. After high school Zella graduated from Clark College in 1941, and was a dietitian for many years. She covered a large area including the Guttenberg Hospital and Care Center all the way up to Postville. The same year she graduated from college she was united in marriage with Norris Kuenzel on July 21, 1941. They were then blessed with two children. Zella was on the Library board for many years including being the chairman of the board. She enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, collecting rocks, painting, knitting and spending time at their summer lake home in Wisconsin. Zella will be missed by her husband, Norris Kuenzel; one daughter, Karen (Paul) Moldenhauer of Stuttgart, Arkansas; one son, Kurt (Sue) Kuenzel of Garnavillo; four grandchildren, Chris and Tim Kuenzel and Jonathon and Henry Moldenhauer; one sister Kay (Jack) Degnan of Guttenberg.
